The view menu simply enables you to make the Toolbar and/or Status Bar visible or invisible. The Toolbar is the row of command buttons at the top of the main window. The Status Bar is the bar at the very bottom of the main window which shows messages and the status of the keyboard.
Switching these off gives you a little more space and enables you to see simultaneously more raw anagrams at the Search Stage or Weed Stage and more subwords at the Word Stage.
